AN INTRODUCTION
Ellie Parish, a rookie journalist from the "Outworld" colonies, has arrived with her husband in hopes of finding a career-making story on the lost frontier of Earth. What has happened to the descendants of those who were left behind?
The couple hit a deadly quarantine field, however, and their spacecraft is destroyed. Her transportation gone and her husband killed in the crash, the grief-stricken Ellie is left to cross the wasteland alone in search of civilization.
At the crumbling city of Capital Three she is met with a small swarm of steam-powered "Spotter" sentries intent on tagging her for unknown purposes, but is saved by the human scout Ben August: a man on a mission. Ellie mentions the man who first contacted her and suggested the possibility of a great story, a mysterious man named "Culver.' Culver is believed long dead, however, and August proposes she come with him.

THE CONCEPT
Trash & Progress is intended as high concept science fiction told through the subtle lens of indepedent filmmaking. Shot in high-definition, it is a passion project developed, filmed, and performed by dedicated cast and crew from all over the San Francisco Bay Area.
Multiple story threads (murders in the desert, a mission of sacrifice, and the search for a mysterious governing tyrant as old as history) combine into a single post-apocolyptic tale.
